I think my favorite form of shopping is actually shopping for Catholic books, goods, and sacramentals. There is always something new to discover and there are some amazingly talented writers and craftsman who have consecrated their lives to His service through various art forms; whether it be the written word, works of music or on the live stage, or even the crafting of those often simple, yet very special sacramentals we come to cherish as special reminders of the extraordinary gift we have been given in our holy faith.

Half the Kingdom now offers an array of products to enrich one’s journey through a relationship with Amazon.com. A small portion of the proceeds from your purchase funds the work of this apostolate.

Please take a moment to visit our Catholic on Amazon shop. And, may you be blessed!

Friends,
It seems incredible that it was two years ago that this ministry undertook the endeavor to make our efforts officially tied to non-profit work, and a full time focus. It is indeed a great joy to administer this apostolate, even when the hours are long and the “to do” list seemingly far exceeds the “done” [...]

Friends,

It seems incredible that it was two years ago that this ministry undertook the endeavor to make our efforts officially tied to non-profit work, and a full time focus. It is indeed a great joy to administer this apostolate, even when the hours are long and the “to do” list seemingly far exceeds the “done” list, but such is God’s work. For that we can thank and praise Him, and may it be a long time before our “done” list exceeds our things yet to do…

As you know, because this is a full time endeavor, the ministry relies on two means for ensuring it is able to meet its fixed expenses and accomplish the work set out for us from our dear Lord; donations, and sales of US faith-based postage. I haven’t written to you about this before, as you know, but sometimes, we can become busy and assume that support of ministries we perceive to be of value is being adequately covered by others. At times, that may be the case, however, in this case, I do need to ask you, if you derive benefit from this work, to please consider supporting our continuing work by either donation, or purchase of our lovingly and meticulously designed postage. It can be used on your envelopes for mail originating in the USA, or collected if you enjoy collecting stamps. I’ve learned a bit about philately (stamp collecting) since undertaking this project and it is a hobby of continual discovery - and worldwide.

A few days ago, I shared with you the story of the stone soup, whose message was that each one, giving something, resulted in something wonderful for all. I do hope you will consider a gift to my stone soup today, by donation or purchase. To make a secure tax-deductible donation please click here. To peruse our collection of Christmas postage, please click here. We have added two antique Santa stamps that are really quite special.

May God abundantly bless you and all you hold dear,

In Him,

Sue

It is nearly Thanksgiving here in the United States, and that means we will soon be writing and sending Christmas greetings to those we hold dear. At Holy Postage, we have been working to make possible a special selection of Christmas postage to beautifully adorn the envelopes of those cards - which may well be the most memorable communication someone will receive from a loved one this year.

Please take a moment and visit our gift shop and peruse our Christmas postage. We also have a wide array of downloadable wallpaper available for your cell phone. You may want to consider one to remind you of the holiness of this season while using your phone.

Finally, if you enjoy sending e-greetings to your friends, we have recently launched an e-greetings section of the Holy Postage site. There is a wide array of images, music, poems, and quotes with which to convey your heartfelt sentiments. Holy Postage e-greetings is here. The e-greetings site requires registration, which is, of course, free.

Thank you for your support of this apostolate, by way of your patronage, and your prayers.

Through Him, With Him, In Him,

Sue

As you know, if you have visited the main Half the Kingdom! website, I am a Firefox fan (see Blessed Browsing.)

There are many reasons for this, which have become more apparent to me over time, but initially it was the ability to customize the interface and avail myself of the nearly unending array of “add-ons” which facilitate outstanding functionality to the browser and greatly enhance its utility. I’m very big on customization.

There are other browsers which people feel have appeal, but, having tried them, I found them to fall far short of my accustomed standard.

Having said that, periodically, I do launch the browser touted as holding the number one position to ensure that what is presented to you on this site, appears as it should.

In the course of that endeavor, I’ve discovered that, in fact, not all browsers render alike, and actually seriously flinch at those things that Firefox takes well in stride.

Last evening, while scrolling through in IE, I discovered that the rendering doesn’t function properly once one gets beyond the first few posts. It actually scrunches the sidebar and main content into the main content area.

I am working on getting this resolved, and hope to have it fixed soon.

Additionally, text formatting does not always present as intended in IE. I am working on minimizing those issues as well, and hope to get this space presenting as intended for you quickly, if you are an IE user. In the interim, consider acquainting yourself with the #2 browser. They really do try harder…
